Büyükekşi: “Share of high technology products in export will increase with innovation”
Adana Meeting of Turkey Innovation Week which will be organized for the second time and hosted by Turkish Exports Assembly (TEA) and Mediterranean Exporters Associations targets to increase the added value of Cukurova Region.
Mehmet Büyükekşi, Chairman of TEA, emphasized that they follow the statement of Ataturk on “Success in the way to the civilization depends on innovation” and said that “we aim to increase the share of high technology products in export to 10% in 2023. To realize this, we have to fly the export figures with innovation.”
Zeki Kıvanç, Coordinator Chairman of Mediterranean Exporters Associations, said that “We will organize the 5th Textile Fabric Design Competition at Adana Stone Bridge. We will exhibit the designs of the students and local knitting techniques.”
Turkey Innovation Week which will be organized by Turkish Exports Assembly (TEA) and Mediterranean Exporters Associations under coordination of the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Turkey will be held in Adana on 27-28 October. Adana Meeting of Turkey Innovation Week which will be organized for the second time targets to increase the added value of Cukurova Region.
Turkey Innovation Week will be organized with the contributions of Chamber of Industry of Adana, Çukurova Development Agency, Chamber of Commerce of Adana, TEMSA, Çukurova Expo, Adana Hacı Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone and Adana Metropolitan Municipality and in strategic partnership of Arçelik, Turkish Economy Bank and Turkish Airlines and opening of the Adana Meeting will be attended by Governor of Adana Mr. Mahmut Demirtaş, Mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mr. Hüseyin Özlü, Chairman of Turkish Exporters Assembly Mr. Mehmet Büyükekşi, Coordinator Chairman of Mediterranean Exporters Associations Mr. Zeki Kıvanç, Head of TEA Adana Innovation Committee Mr. Bülent Aymen, Senior Deputy Director General of TEB SME Banking and Deputy Director General Mr. Turgut Boz and many exporters.
Famous speakers about different topics
Adana Meeting of Turkey Innovation Week will unify many universities, R&D centers and techno parks under the same roof and there will be such important speakers from the business world as Nihat Özdemir, Demet Sabancı Çetindoğan and Sani Şener. Panels and conferences will be organized with the participation of world famous experts in many fields such as Design and Innovation, Inspiring Entrepreneurs, Turkish Business World, Successfully Recognized in the World, Star CEOs of Innovative Companies, Innovation as Leading Actor, Extraordinary Women, Smart Objects, Industry 4.0 and Present to World Cuisine in South of Anatolia. Furthermore, workshops and trainings will be held in many areas from design to social competition, education to health.
We dreamed our goals like Van Gogh
Mehmet Büyükekşi, Chairman of Turkish Exporters Assembly, emphasized importance of innovation with the statement of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on “Success in the way to the civilization depends on innovation” and famous artist Van Gogh on “I dream of my painting and then I paint my dream.” Büyükekşi said that “We have to dream to success. Big explorers are the people with great imagination. Big works are only possible with big dreams. As TEA, we first dreamed about our 2023 goals. Now we are painting these dreams with our studies in the field of R&D, innovation, brand and design.
Share of high technology products must be 10% in export
Emphasizing that they continue working to help Turkey become one of the 10 biggest economies of the world, Büyükekşi expressed his opinions as follows: “This year Turkey ranks as the 42nd in Global Innovation Index. Share of high technology products is 3,4% in export of January-August period. We have to carry the innovation and R&D to the higher levels in order to reach all these goals. To this aim, we have to fly the export figures with innovation. Wings of the exporters are in the innovation, R&D, design and branding.”
Fabric Design Competition will be organized at Adana Stone Bridge

Bülent Aymen, Chairman of TEA Innovation Committee said that “Last year there were about 10 thousands participants. This year we will share the enthusiasm of innovation with participants coming from not only nearby provinces but also all provinces of Turkey.”

Mr. Turgut Boz, Senior Deputy Director General of TEB SME Banking and Deputy Director General, said that “We understand that companies which closely follow the global trends, adapt to digital transformation, well perceive the signals of change, act rapidly, carry out innovative works and provide sustainability become successful in this period during which we live everything on real-time basis with fast development of technology and digitalization.
