“Incentives will return exceedingly”

Mehmet Büyükekşi, Chairman of the Turkish Exporter's Assembly, commented on 2017 Draft Law of Central Administration Budget, which was publicized by Finance Minister, Naci Ağbal, on 17 October 2016.

Büyükekşi said that: “It is encouraging to re-regulate the composition of government expenditures in such a way that supports exports. Incentives will return exceedingly

“Turkish Economy showed a positive growth performance in the first half of the year. As Turkish Exporters, we stated that in order to have sustainable growth rates, contribution of investment and export to the growth should increase. With respect to this, kind requests to increase export were offered to the government. Among them, Green Passport for exporters, regulation of the Law of Stamp Duty on behalf of exporters, increase of the budget of Eximbank were adopted.

“Besides, increase in the amount of financial supports given to exporters was among our requests. Minister of Finance, Naci Ağbal, publicized that financial supports would rise from 1 billion to 3 billion in 2017. Within this framework, we thanks to our government, notably our Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Minister of Finance. Additional incentives will return exceedingly.”

Büyükekşi “Our 2023 target is to get a share at the rate of 1.5% of World Trade. Global Trade is in one of its weakest terms. Even a small incentive would help the economy to boost. In this sense, increase of the supports will create a leverage effect to the economy.”
