October 2016 Export Figures Revealed

Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM), revealed October 2016 export figures with a press conference in Ford factory, Kocaeli, Turkey. According to TİM figures, national export has declined by 4.9 percent in October compared to the same month of the last year, becoming 11 billion 727 million U.S. dollars.

Looking at the 10-month data, Turkey's exports were recorded as 115 billion 952 million U.S. dollars with a drop by 3.1 percent.

On the other hand, quantity based exports in the first 10 months of 2016 has increased by 4 percent, equivalent of 85.7 million tons. For October only, quantitative decrease is 3.3 % compared to 2015 October.

Top performing industry was automotive with 2.2 billion U.S. dollars in exports with 8.2% increase. Automotive was followed by garments and apparels, with an export figure of 1.4 billion U.S. dollars.

In October, Turkey increased their exports to 102 countries. Some significant increases are USA with 12.8%, China with 23.7% and Bulgaria with 61.7%.

In addition to this, 28 Turkish cities increased their exports while 52 had export drops.

According to the exports to country groups, EU countries again became the first group with 49.6% of all exports for the whole month, generating a 4.7% decrease while exports to Fareast countries increase by 35.8%
