Problems of Agricultural Sector Assessed

TIM organized a meeting in Ankara together with agricultural products unions under the chairmanship of the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock with the participation of related bureaucrats to assess the problems of the sector. Participation was made to the meeting from İstanbul Exporters Unions, Black Sea Hazelnut Exporter Union, Central Anatolia Exporters Unions, Uludağ Exporters Unions, Mediterranean Exporters Unions, Ornamental Plants Exporters Union, Aegean Dry Fruit and Products Exporters Union, Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Union.

In his evaluation about the “Agriculture Sector Assessment Meeting” held in the Ministry of Economy, TIM Chairman Mehmet Büyükekşi pointed out that the world foreign trade volume has increased 60 times in the last 40 years, while the agricultural foreign volume has increased 25 times.

TIM Chairman Büyükekşi indicated that the existing problems in the agricultural sector are increasing day by day and recommended that a commission be established consisting of representatives from TIM, Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture. This recommendation was accepted later in the meeting.
