Büyükekşi, Head of Turkish Exporters Assembly, addressed to the youth during Turkish Innovation Week:
“The world is getting prepared for economy without labor – The solution is to become a leader in innovation”
The 5th Innovation Week which was organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly under coordination of the Ministry of Economics started at Istanbul Congress Center. During three days, the event will bring together successful names who have made differences in their respective fields and address innovation in many areas from economics to science, sports and cinema.
Faruk Özlü, Minister of Science, Industry and Trade, who attended the inauguration ceremony said that “The main problem of Turkey is the technological gap. If we close the technological gap, we can also deal with the current deficit and foreign trade deficit.”
Mehmet Büyükekşi, Head of Turkish Exporters Assembly, said that “Robotic solutions or software applications related to artificial intelligence will capture 15% of the works in the USA in 2025. The world is getting prepared for economy without labor. From now on, we just have to lead design, R&D, brand and innovation.”
Büyükekşi continued his words as follows: “Earphone that is sold for TL 5 in anywhere of Turkey may transform into the most valuable simultaneous earphone by using unbelievable software and its value rises to hundreds of dollars from only TL 5.”
Zapata, the world jet-ski champion who made a revolution with fly-board model, said that “If you want to work in the field of innovation, consider money as aim not as target. Do not be afraid! Trust yourself! Everybody dies but not everybody lives. Believe in yourself even if all others think otherwise. You will definitely reach your goal if you work hard.”
The 5th Innovation Week which was organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly under coordination of the Ministry of Economics started at Istanbul Congress Center in order to support innovative studies for sustainable development. The event was hosted by the Turkish Exporters Assembly under sponsorship of Arçelik, TEB, Turkish Airlines, Sabanci Holding, Çalık Holding and Turkcell and it will bring together professionals, industrialists, academicians and students who have made differences in their respective fields from 10 countries and address innovation in many areas from economics to science, sports and cinema for three days.
Faruk Özlü, Minister of Science, Industry and Trade, Vasip Şahin, Governor of Istanbul and many important names from the export world attended the inauguration ceremony of the Turkish Innovation Week hosted by Mehmet Büyükekşi, Head of the Turkish Exporters Assembly.
Mehmet Büyükekşi, Head of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, made the opening speech and said that the youth that will lead the innovation would turn Turkey into a technology producing country and reach 2023 targets. Addressing to two thousands students from 140 universities, Mehmet Büyükekşi, Head of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, stated that “In developed countries, innovation is performed over software. Robotic solutions or software applications related to artificial intelligence will capture 15% of the works in the USA in 2025. The world is getting prepared for economy without labor. From now on, we just have to lead design, R&D, brand and innovation.”
Emphasizing that golden rule of the success is “never giving up”, Büyükekşi said that “Working is a sine-qua-non condition of innovation. We are the grandchildren of a generation who set example of hard work for many times. As said by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, All hope and future of the country is dependent on you, understanding and energy of the young generations.”
“We are a part of the economy with entrepreneurial spirit of exporters”
Büyükekşi said that this event was the first thing that came to mind when innovation was said in Turkey and continued his words as follows: “We cannot be modest in this issue because we deserve it. Innovation is achieving to achieve together. All our exporters have a share to realize this organization. Without their entrepreneurial spirit, export could not be that important part of the Turkish economy. Therefore, I would like to thank and express my gratitude to our 65 thousand exporters for their courage and determination to success.”
Zapata: “First condition of innovation is to set a goal”
Franky Zapata, the world jet-ski champion who made a revolution with fly-board model, also attended the event as a speaker. He delivered a speech in the panel titled “Zapata Success Story” and said “I made fly-board by imagining flying. I first thought we may make small-scale sales in France. I loaded it to Youtube and the next day I got orders from 2 thousand people. It spread worldwide within a very short time. We created fly-board sport and industry within five years”.
Herr: “In the future, people will increase their muscular power with synthetic motors”
Hugh Herr who is known as Leader of the Bionic Age with the pioneer developments in bionic body part technologies, which became hope for the physically disabled people, also attended the Turkish Innovation Week. Herr who lost both his legs after a mountain accident and have bionic legs for this reason said that “In the future, people will increase their power and speed by using new-generation synthetic motors. Thus, our biological muscles will move faster and become more powerful. You will be able to see such persons walking in the streets of Istanbul or Paris one or a hundred years later. These people may do this either to protect their biological joints or increase their current muscular power.”
New IDs will be created with bionic technology
Saying that new IDs will be created in years with bionic technology, Hugh Herr continued his words as follows: “I lived my own identity change thanks to the bionic. Everybody told me that 'You will be lame' with bionic legs. On the contrary, I climbed the mountains of such height that nobody could dare. Even somebody said 'I will cut my legs too, you are cheating.'
