The Brand Turkey which is organized by the ministry of economy for the first time as the organization of the Turkish exporters assembly was held in Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar ICEC on 25-26 may 2017. 

Speaking at the opening of the second day of the Brand Turkey event which is organized for the first time by the Ministry of Economy with the organization of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, President of TİM Mehmet Büyükekşi, "We should make the Turkish brand 'the king of the brands'. Because, with the momentum and support it has created, Turkey will give the biggest support to the rise of our other brands. "

Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci clarified that "If your country is not a brand, you cannot create the brand from that country. We cannot reach the targets with what we have done so far. Now we must say new things. Today, the brand value of Turkey is 29.3 billion dollars and Google is 109.4 billion dollars. We must be a country that produces and designs information, and distributes its consumption nets ".

The second day of the branding Turkey which is held to speed up the branding of Turkish companies towards the export targets of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) was carried out by the Ministry of Economy. In the opening day of the second day hosted by TIM President Mehmet Büyükekşi, along with Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, many exporters and world famous brand gurus participated. TİM Chairman Mehmet Büyükekşi, in his opening speech, Turkey's path to increase the value given to all humanity, stating that "67 thousand exporters, become one for the future of our country. Saying with the motto of the President of the Republic, we say in 2023; We will have an economy that guides global trends. The share we get from the world trade will be 1.5 percent. Our competitive power in the markets will reach the highest levels. There are four basic principles we underline to realize these: R & D, Innovation, Design and Branding. For years, we have been engaged in activities that raise awareness in these areas. After that, we aim to traditionalize the branding Turkey activity ".

Taking note that Turkey has to take place with its own brands in the world market, Büyükekşi said, "If we look at our potential, there is a long way ahead in the field of branding. We are doing this conference to spread brand awareness. While we hold valuable brand conferences in our country, why do we make a new one? Our aim is to increase the knowledge and experience of our exporters in the field of global communication and branding and to benefit from the consequences of this export. Our other goal is to ensure that regional and sector brands are managed correctly and effectively. Besides these, we must make the Turkish brand a trademark of the brands. The Turkish brand should rise above the success of all our brands. Because, with the momentum and support we have created, it will be Turkey Brand which will give the greatest support to the rise of our other brands. "

Büyükekşi reminds us of the words of the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, "Your brand is what others have said about you while you are not in the room”, and adds "We are conducting the Turkey Image Campaign studies in 7 countries under the leadership of our Ministry of Economy to change the perception of our country positively. We know that brand means trust, reputable perception. We are a giant consisting of 67 thousand people. There is no country from Russia to Iraq, from Panama to Thailand that we did not see. As exporters, we see ourselves as delegates of the Trademarks of Turkey. "

We give the support as much as we can. Only Turquality brand's 2017 budget is close to TL 700 million. This figure is just for branding and brand support. "

On the second day of the event, Turkish Brand Value Contributors and a Turquality award ceremony were held. In this scope, Turkish Brand Value Contributors are awarded with the awards of THY, Beko, Godiva, Simit Palace, LC Waikiki, TIMS Productions, Acibadem Health Group, Şişecam, Ziraat Bank, Bahçeşehir University, VSY Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industry Inc., Ford, Vakıfbank Sports Club Women Volleyball Team while Turquality Awards were received by Beko, CMS Jant and Kordsa companies.
