TURKEY'S APPEAL RANKS 45TH IN THE WORLD

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) has introduced Global Attractiveness Index, prepared by Italy's leading think tank European House Ambrosetti, together with Italian Embassy and Italian Trade Agency. The goal of this Index is to complete missing points of World Bank Ease of Doing Business Index, World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness Index and Global Innovation Index and achieve a more objective methodology, in which Turkey ranks 45th among all 144 countries.

Speaking at the introduction of Global Attractiveness Index, Deputy Chairman of TİM Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu:”Our country is 69th at World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness Index and 65th at World Bank Ease of Doing Business Index. However, by the Global Attractiveness Index, which is prepared with a more objective methodology, we observed that our countries are evaluated with more reliable criteria.

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) has introduced Global Attractiveness Index, prepared by Italy's leading think tank European House Ambrosetti, together with Italian Embassy and Italian Trade Agency. Turkey got the 45th place among 144 countries in the Index, which is organized by the cooperation of global brands like ABB, Toyota and Unilever.

The goal of this Index is to complete missing points of World Bank Ease of Doing Business Index, World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness Index and Global Innovation Index and achieve a more objective methodology. Italy ranks 14th in the Index.

At the seminar of “Global Attractiveness Index; The Real Measure of Italy's and Turkey's Competitiveness”, which is organized to introduce the index, TİM deputy Chairman Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu highlighted that the index is completing the missing points of others. Reminding that both Turkey and Italy are really rich in terms of foreign trade, investments and tourism, Çıkrıkçıoğlu stated that: “However, we have seen that our rankings are not quite satisfying.” and continued as:

Our Country has been Evaluated with more Reliable Criteria

“Our country is 69th at World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness Index and 65th at World Bank Ease of Doing Business Index. However, by the Global Attractiveness Index, which is prepared with a more objective methodology, we observed that our countries are evaluated with more reliable criteria. Italy and Turkey are at the positions of significant attraction centers of the world.”

Speaking at the seminar Italy's Ankara Ambassador Luigi Mattiolo, recorded that both of the countries also want to be attraction centers for foreign investments and related works are completed. Mattiolo said: “Ankara and attach particular importance to foreign investments.”
