In 2021, this average has risen further to levels of 1700 per month. We trust our SMEs and believe in the value they will add to our country's exports. To expand the E-export ecosystem at the national and international level, we are also working to establish the TİM e-Export Council. We are implementing our Young TİM Project to direct our young people to exports and to raise the young generation of the export people of the future."
Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the only umbrella organization of 100 thousand exporters with 61 Exporters' Associations and 27 sectors in Türkiye, continues its efforts in full speed to strengthen the 'Made in Türkiye' brand and achieve its export target. In this context, TİM Extended Presidents' Board Meeting was held with the participation of Trade Minister Mehmet Muş, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, and the heads of the Exporters' Union. The export family had the opportunity to convey the demands and suggestions of solutions related to exports to Trade Minister Mehmet Muş at the meeting held at the Ministry of Commerce. At the meeting, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle addressing to the work they did on behalf of the export family and the targets and expectations for the future and shared the exporter's roadmap with Trade Minister Mehmet Muş.
"This great success is the work of every member of our export family"
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle emphasized that since the day they took office, they have been working tirelessly with the presidents to further the country's exports. Stating that, they will continue to march decisively towards export targets in the new period with the support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the government, Gülle said, “The resolute messages we gave to the public by placing our targets beyond normal throughout the process were directly reflected in production and exports across the country.
Thus, we managed to exceed our 2020 export target of $165.9 billion with $169.6 billion in exports. In the first 5 months, our total exports exceeded 85 billion dollars. This figure shows that we have achieved the highest export performance in the history of the Republic in the first 5 months. This great achievement is the work of our esteemed presidents and every member of our export family. I congratulate all our presidents once again for these great achievements."
"Our president has always been there for the export family"
Reminding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has always been there for the export family and continues to be with them, Gülle continued: "Our President graced us by his attending the 8th Türkiye Innovation Week and Economic Reforms Meeting last year. At the special consultation meeting, in a period of about 4 hours, we submitted all requests and solution proposals from our exporters to our President. We have made Türkiye Innovation Week a national and international brand. So much so that this year, Türkiye Innovation Week received nearly 7 million interactions with more than 70 domestic and foreign speakers and 1.7 million views. In addition to all these activities, in line with the "Stronger Export, Stronger Türkiye" goal of our Parliament, we are preparing for the "Türkiye Export Council", which will shape the future of national exports under the auspices of our President and which we plan to organize regularly. In this context, we have completed regional consultation meetings with all our Secretaries-General. Hopefully, we will also carry out an efficient export council where we will analyze the current situation and future of our exports."
"This year, we plan to hold 130 trade and procurement delegations"
Underlining that they held 569 sector boards and consultation meetings with Exporters' Associations in 2020, Gülle said, "We aim to hold over 600 meetings in 2021. In 2020, we carried out a total of 58 trade and procurement delegations. In 2021, we plan to carry out 130 trade and acquisition delegations. Again, hopefully in 2021, we will carry out over 1000 sectoral pieces of training, nearly 1100 researches, and publications. Thanks to our government, while signing these works, it has always supported us by bringing solutions to the demands of the export family. All these demands resolved were very important for the continuity of our production and exports. The biggest supporter of our successful exit from the difficult pandemic process was the smooth functioning of our consultation mechanism.”
“During the pandemic, we turned to digital activities. We launched the digital export campaign by carrying out 76 virtual trade delegations to 61 countries on 6 continents. Again, we are very proud to have signed virtual trade delegations for our female exporters, which is also a first. We organized 2 virtual trade delegations to 8 countries on 2 continents, exclusively for our female exporters. 11 virtual fairs, which we carried out with the participation of 739 exporter companies, made very valuable contributions to the exports of our country."
"The number of new companies joining the export family has increased to 1700 per month"
Noting that as Turkish Exporters Assembly, they will implement the Turkish Logistics Portal on the global container problem experienced by exporters recently, Gülle said, "In railway transportation; We were already familiar with import trains coming to our country from China. But on railways, the tracks are two-way. By performing a first, we saw off our first block export train from Türkiye to China. In addition, within the scope of our cooperation with Turkish Airlines on December 4th, we signed a protocol that gives our exporter a great advantage in air cargo logistics operations. We will continue our work in the coming period to improve the logistics activities of our exporters in the air, on land, and at sea. TİM TRNC Office (Northern Cyprus Office), which is the first overseas unit that we opened in 2020, continues its work without slowing down. In November, with the participation of The President of Northern Cyprus, Mr. Ersin Tatar Bey, we moved our SME Export Mobilization program to Northern Cyprus. An average of 1500 new companies started exporting every month of 2020. In 2021, this average has risen further to 1700 per month. We trust our SMEs and believe in the value they will add to our country's exports."

In addition, we are continuing our efforts to establish the TİM e-Export Council to bring e-export issues to the agenda of TİM and related institutions under the roof of our Parliament and to expand the E-export ecosystem at the national and international level. With our TİM Women's Council, we will implement "Strong Women of Export Award Ceremony", "University Meetings" where our successful female exporters will be evaluated according to their annual export performance, "University Meetings" where our members will create an ecosystem of experience sharing, and "Your-Ge projects for women enterprises". For a stronger Türkiye, we have become aware of the indispensableness of stronger exports. In the last 6 months, we have increased our exports to over 100 billion dollars. Hopefully, we will exceed 200 billion dollars in annual exports this year." he said.
