Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the only umbrella organization of 100 thousand exporters with 61 exporter associations and 27 sectors, continues its “SME Export Campaign Training Programs” which organized to encourage the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for exports and to inform about export supports, marketing strategy, financing, and risk analysis, this year. In this context, TİM held the last of its online training to Amasya. Participants were informed about many topics, from how to become an exporter, how to benefit from export-related supports and the financing of exports. The program attracted great attention, in which Amasya Governor Mustafa Masatlı and TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle participated in its close.
“We aim to reach all around Anatolia”
TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, who gave information about TİM SME Export Campaign Program at the event, said, “We continue to walk to our export targets with new records. We know that we can achieve these goals only by spreading exports to the bottom; we carry out many studies for this purpose. Today, the TİM SME Export Campaign Amasya Training Program, in which we participated in its closing, is also a product of these studies. It has been about two years since our first training program. In the last two years, 35,677 companies have joined the export family. We aim to reach every company with export potential all around Anatolia with TİM SME Export Campaign training. In the last two years, we have organized SMExport Campaign Training, including 10 in our country and one on a digital platform in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; as physically and online, we trained a total of 1,120 people.”
“We designed the program for three target audiences”
Stating that they designed TİM SME Export Campaign Training Programs for 3 target audiences, Gülle said, “The first is company representatives who already have their businesses and want to carry out export activities, the second is companies that want to provide continuous export growth, and the third is young entrepreneurs. In our training, we carried out our experts who are competent in their field, conveyed their knowledge and experience to our companies and entrepreneurs on many issues such as 'Marketing Strategies in Export, Export Support Programs, Project Preparation, Export Financing, Export Credits, Guarantee Insurance Applications for Export.”
Emphasis on the city's successful export performance
Referring to Amasya's rising export performance, Gülle, “Last year, our companies Amasya origin exported 12.3 million dollars to the United States, 6 million dollars to Germany and 3.4 million dollars to Russia. Again, we see that our Amasya exporters exported significant amounts to North African countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria in 2020, despite the pandemic. In 2020, our province made the most exports in the garment sector with 17.9 million dollars, followed by air conditioning with 5.8 million dollars, and electrical-electronics sectors with 5.2 million dollars. The share of these three sectors in the exports of our province is over 60 percent. When we analyze Amasya's exports on a product basis, we see that it has signed exports in 187 different 6-way GTIP coded products. In 125 of these products, our country has a competitive advantage. The products, in which Amasya exports more than 1 million dollars in 2020 and our country has a competitive advantage; are wheat flour, marble and travertine, iron/steel cooking devices, electric ovens and stoves, hoods, and glassware. The share of the exports of our Amasya companies in our country's exports; was 42 percent in sugar beet seed, 10 percent in single-phase AC engines, 4.2 percent in floor stones and tiles, and 3.5 percent in hoods with aspirators.” he said.
“The number of exporters in Amasya is also increasing”
Gülle stated that the three products that Amasya exported the most in 2020 were ready-made woven items, cooking devices of iron/steel and hoods. Stating that he believes that the city has great potential with its geographically marked products in the agricultural sectors and the companies will turn to exports in agriculture and food in the coming period, Gülle said, “The trend of increase in the number of exporters in Amasya is also remarkable. In the early 2010s, an average of 25-30 companies exported every month, while in 2020 the number of companies reached 63. All 16 of these companies exported for the first time in 2020 despite the global pandemic. I believe that hundreds of company representatives and entrepreneurs participating in our Amasya TİM SMExport Campaign Training Program will take their first step towards exports. As field workers of exports, we will continue to stand by our country's exporters and entrepreneurs. We will build Türkiye together, which is rising with exports.”
