The Launch Meeting for Türkiye Innovation Week 2024 Was Held
The promotional meeting for Türkiye Innovation Week 2024, which will be held on October 10-12 at the Haliç Congress Center, took place with the participation of strategic partners. During the meeting, TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe stated, “We know the contribution of innovation to value-added production and exports. We must spread innovation to all relevant sectors of society.”
To enhance Türkiye's innovation ecosystem, the Türkiye Innovation Week press launch, hosted by TİM, was held at Kuruçeşme Divan. The evening, hosted by TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe, saw the attendance of strategic partners supporting Türkiye Innovation Week, ecosystem stakeholders, innovation ambassadors, and members of the press.
Speaking at the #TogetherWithInnovation-themed (#Birlikteİnovasyon) TIW24 promotional program, organized with the slogan “Becoming part of the great transformation,” TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe emphasized the importance of innovation in contributing to value-added production and exports.
“Türkiye ranks 37th in the Global Innovation Index”
Gültepe remarked, “When Türkiye Innovation Week began in 2012, Türkiye ranked 74th in the Global Innovation Index. According to the recently announced index, Türkiye has risen two places from last year and 37 places since 2012, now ranking 37th.”
Gültepe continued by emphasizing the critical role innovation plays in value-added production and exports:
“We aim to further develop the innovation ecosystem in our country with this awareness. If we are to become one of the top 10 exporting countries in the world, innovation will play a significant role. Through innovation, we will elevate Türkiye's exports to a higher league. To meet our targets in the global race, we must effectively utilize the power of innovation alongside investments in high technology, digital transformation, and green transitions. Additionally, we seek to enhance the motivation of individuals and organizations to think innovatively.
One of the event's slogans is 'Together with innovation.' Sustaining motivation is crucial, which is why sustainable motivation has become one of our core values. For 10 years, we have felt the power of achieving together, which is why we have made 'together with innovation' one of our key principles. We understand that our strength comes from an ever-growing ecosystem. Therefore, we are committed to spreading innovation to all relevant sectors of society.”
“Innovation thrives through international collaboration; each year, we designate partner countries”
Gültepe further explained that they enhance international collaboration in innovation by designating partner countries each year. “This year, the United States, Sweden, and China will be our partner countries. Additionally, we will present awards in eight different categories. The awards for our İnovaLİG competition, which has received a record number of applications, will be presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan”, he said.
TİM Vice Chairman Kutlu Karavelioğlu also spoke at the event, saying, “Building the future requires courage, and behind that courage lies humanity and its never-ending motivation. This year, we have built our theme around this perspective, redefining the power that resides within each of us.”
Karavelioğlu added that this year's theme is “Out of the Box: Human, Culture, Model”, elaborating:
“We are not only focusing on new technologies but also reevaluating humans, culture, and business models through a fresh, innovative lens. The true power of innovation emerges when people think freely, embrace diverse cultural approaches, and adopt bold business models. This year, we have prepared a multi-layered and comprehensive program to take steps beyond conventional boundaries, write new stories, and collectively experience the transformative power of innovation.”
