TİM and THY Extend Their 'Continued Collaboration' Agreement
Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and Turkish Airlines (THY) have renewed their discounted cargo transportation protocol for the fourth time, enabling exporters to ship their products abroad at reduced rates. Under this protocol, export items can be delivered to 42 destinations in 30 countries, enjoying discounts of up to 25%.
The Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and Turkish Airlines (THY) cargo brand, Turkish Cargo, have renewed their discounted cargo transportation protocol for the fourth time, allowing exporters to ship their products abroad at reduced rates. According to the protocol, export products can be delivered to 42 points in 30 countries with discounts of up to 25%.
“Our exports by air exceeded 10 billion dollars in 9 months”
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of TİM, Mustafa Gültepe, emphasized the pivotal role of logistics in the export process. He stated their aim to raise Türkiye's average export range from 3,065 kilometers to the world average of 4,777 kilometers, particularly targeting access to distant markets through air cargo transportation. Gültepe continued:
"We have established highly efficient collaborations in recent years with our national pride, Turkish Airlines. Today, we are here to sign the collaboration protocol with THY for the fourth time. We embarked on this journey with the motto 'Turkey will soar with exports on the wings of Turkish Airlines'. Thankfully, while our exports are increasing, air cargo transportation has shouldered this burden effortlessly. In the nine months we have left behind this year, we achieved 143,000 tons of exports via air cargo. The foreign exchange equivalent of our exports via air in these nine months exceeded 10 billion dollars. With the renewed protocol, we aim to further increase the share of air transportation. We have strategically identified target destinations for our exporters. To 42 cities in 30 countries, our exporters will be able to deliver their products with discounts of up to 25%. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Turkish Airlines, and personally to Mr. Ahmet Bolat, for their invaluable collaboration.”

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of THY, emphasized their determination to deliver Türkiye's value-added products to global markets under the most competitive conditions for the Turkish economy. Thus, he stated that they signed the fourth collaboration protocol with TİM. Bolat said, "In the first three campaigns, we achieved 7 billion dollars of exports, providing significant benefits to Türkiye's foreign trade. In our new campaign, we offer a capacity of 20,000 tons for discounted use in 42 destinations of strategic importance for Turkish exporters. We believe that our collaboration will greatly accelerate our country's export mobilization."
With the agreement, Turkish exporters will deliver their products to 42 cities with discounts of up to 25%.
Under the renewed agreement, Turkish Cargo will transport export products to 42 cities in 30 countries at discounts of up to 25%. The campaign covers general cargo, perishable cargo, eggs, fish, meat, fruits, and vegetable shipments, and will commence on October 16, running until January 31, 2024.
