The Samsun Branch of Turkish Trade Bank, which has recommenced its activities with the objective of playing an active role in Türkiye's export-driven growth, has been officially inaugurated. The opening ceremony was attended by Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı, Samsun Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye's Planning and Budget Commission Mehmet Muş, AK Party Samsun Member of Parliament Ersan Aksu, Deputy Minister of Trade Özgür Volkan Ağar, Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Halit Doğan, President of Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) & Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Trade Bank Mustafa Gültepe, Member of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Turkish Trade Bank İlker Yeşil, along with chairpersons of exporters' associations and numerous exporters operating in the region.

“Access to cost-effective financing for our exporters is of paramount importance”

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Trade Bank Mustafa Gültepe stated that sustainable and healthy economic growth can only be achieved through production and exports. Emphasizing that they are working with the vision and objective of elevating Türkiye into the top 10 exporting countries globally, Gültepe stated:

“In line with this ambitious objective, we have mobilized all our resources to connect our companies with new markets. At the same time, we must increase investments in high technology, R&D, and innovation, and transform digital and green transformation into an opportunity for our country. For the realization of all these efforts, our exporters' access to long-term and cost-effective financing is of critical importance. Turkish Trade Bank, which we have integrated into our export ecosystem through İGE A.Ş. (Inc.), provides our companies with direct, rapid, and favorable financing support while serving our production capacity and export-oriented development vision.”

“Samsun will usher in a new era in exports with Turkish Trade Bank”

Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye's Planning and Budget Commission Mehmet Muş expressed his great satisfaction and enthusiasm regarding the inauguration of the Samsun Branch of Turkish Trade Bank, which holds the distinction of being Türkiye's first privately established national-capital bank, and stated:

“With its strategic location, structure conducive to agriculture and industry, advanced transportation and logistics infrastructure, and its port, Samsun is highly attractive for investment. In addition to the existing 11 organized industrial zones, the establishment of three new zones will position our city as one of the leading centers of both national and regional investment. With the activation of the Central Black Sea Free Zone, our Samsun is steadily advancing towards becoming one of the locomotive cities of regional development by further strengthening in production, investment, and exports. At this juncture, the commencement of Turkish Trade Bank's operations in Samsun is of great significance. The financing opportunities to be provided by our bank will empower entrepreneurs seeking to invest, pave the way for our producers, and enhance the global competitiveness of our exporters. This step will serve as a significant lever contributing to the economic ascent of our Samsun. Our Samsun will embark on a new era in exports with Turkish Trade Bank. Within this strong framework where the public and private sectors collaborate, we will continue to stand by all those who wish to invest and to support our business community. We invite all domestic and international investors to invest in Samsun, establish partnerships, and become part of this growth story.”

“It will contribute to enhancing Samsun's export potential”

Deputy Minister of Trade Özgür Volkan Ağar stated that Turkish Trade Bank constitutes a key component of the financial infrastructure established to enable exporters to access global markets more robustly and securely. Ağar noted, “Samsun stands as one of the key trade and logistics centers of the Black Sea Region. We believe that Turkish Trade Bank will make significant contributions to enhancing our city's export potential, facilitating our companies' access to finance, and sustainably increasing the volume of foreign trade. I wish that our Samsun Branch will be auspicious and beneficial, particularly for our exporters in the region and for our entire business community.”

“We position our branches in the centers where production and exports are most concentrated”

Member of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Turkish Trade Bank İlker Yeşil recalled that they commenced active banking operations in the last quarter of 2024 with the objective of becoming the primary bank of exporters. Stating that they have structured all their business models in line with this objective, Yeşil said, “We position our bank not merely as a financial institution but as a companion and solution partner to exporters. We establish our branches in locations where production and exports are most concentrated. In 2025, we provided financing support amounting to TRY 76.3 billion to exporters. In 2026, we aim to deliver TRY 110 billion in financing support to exporters. Within this framework, we continue to bring our new branches into service in export-intensive centers. We inaugurated our first branch of 2026 in Trabzon. We are now opening our second branch, again in the Black Sea Region, in Samsun, a key production and export hub of the region. Our branch, which also plans to provide financing support to companies in surrounding provinces, is expected to be beneficial and prosperous for our exporters.”
