Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and Türk Eximbank Launch the Green Era
The free sustainability and carbon footprint calculation platform GREENTİM, introduced by TİM last year, has been enhanced with a Green Finance module through cooperation with Türk Eximbank. With this module, exporters will be able to directly access Türk Eximbank's sustainability- and green-oriented loan facilities via the GREENTİM platform.
A new module titled “Green Finance” has been added to the GREENTİM platform, developed by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) to support exporters in complying with national and international sustainability regulations, particularly the European Green Deal.
Integrated into GREENTİM in partnership with Türk Eximbank, the module aims to streamline exporters' access to sustainability- and green-focused financing resources and to expand financing capacity for green transformation investments. Through this module, exporters will be able to view Türk Eximbank's sustainability and green credit programs and application conditions from a single interface, submit loan applications directly via their GREENTİM accounts, and communicate questions regarding loan procedures directly to the bank through the “Write to Türk Eximbank” option. In the initial phase, exporters will be able to apply through the Platform to Türk Eximbank's “International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) Green Export Support Loan” and “Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Green Infrastructure Support Loan” programs, with access to a total credit volume of 1 billion dollars. In addition, the portfolio of available credit programs on the platform will be updated over time and enriched with new sustainability- and green-oriented financing facilities.
“We continue to support our exporters”
TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe stated, “Compliance with the European Green Deal has become a strategic imperative for the future of Türkiye's exports. Guiding our exporters through digital tools and facilitating their access to financing is a fundamental priority for us. With the GREENTİM platform, launched last year for the benefit of our exporters, we aimed not only to build a digital infrastructure but also to lay the foundation for the sustainability transformation. Today, we have added the Green Finance module to this structure in cooperation with Türk Eximbank. Exporters can now manage the entire process—from calculating their carbon footprint to applying for green loans—through a single platform. This step will accelerate the green transformation of our exports, strengthen Türkiye's position within global supply chains, and support our nation's steady progress toward sustainable development goals. Green transformation is not merely an obligation but a major opportunity that will reshape Türkiye's future. As TİM, we take pride in leading this process and in further empowering our exporters within global competition.”
“Not only an environmental responsibility but an economic necessity”
Türk Eximbank General Manager Ali Güney also noted, “With the European Green Deal and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, a new era has begun in global trade. It is no longer sufficient merely to manufacture; adopting a low-carbon, energy-efficient, and environmentally minimized production model has become a fundamental requirement of international commerce. As Türkiye, we are obliged to adapt to this transformation, yet we also possess the potential to convert this process into a competitive advantage. Therefore, green transformation stands out for us not only as an environmental responsibility but also as a strategic and economic necessity. As Türk Eximbank, we prioritize facilitating exporters' access to the financing required for this transformation, supporting their sustainability-oriented investments, and preparing them for the new parameters of global competition. In this context, we continue to develop affordable, long-term, and sustainability-aligned financing models. The Green Finance module that we have integrated into the GREENTİM platform together with TİM is not merely a loan-access channel; it is a holistic support mechanism positioned beside our exporters at every stage of the green transformation. I believe this cooperation will enhance Türkiye's sustainable export capacity, strengthen our competitive power, and accelerate the transition to a green economy.''
