“The Route” event organized by Turkish Exporter's Assembly (TIM) for the 14th time this year, focused on Peru. Chairman of TIM Mr. İsmail GÜLLE said the followings during his opening speech: “There is a change and transformation process in the world. Free trade agreements are canceled, new barriers are put in front and trade wars are started by increasing taxes. In trade bilateral benefit is important. So unilateral measures will always damage international trade. Peru is a growing market for Turkish exporters and has an important economic potential in this sense. Turkey and Peru carry good advantages on their bilateral trade.”

“Turkish economy grew by 5.2% in the second quarter of this year compared to the same quarter last year. Thanks to the increase in private investments and the acceleration in the tourism sector, as it was expected, net exports contributed by 1 point to the growth. The share of exports in quarterly GDP was 22.5 percent.”

Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) 25th General Assembly where 3 candidates competed, İsmail Gülle has been elected as a new chairman with 149 votes of the 398 delegates. The new chairman, Gülle said, "From now on, I will use this job in your best interest. Chair will shrink, services will grow ". Also 27 chairman of the sector councils have been elected at the General Assembly.

Trade wars between the USA and PRC putting the international trade in a tough atmosphere. As Turkey, we always supported free trade which created a win win situation in our bilateral trade relations.”
AWARD TO SERVICE EXPORT CHAMPIONS

Awards for Turkey's 500 Top Service Exporters found their owners in the ceremony, organized by TİM with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Dr. Berat Albayrak, Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan. Turkish Airlines (THY), SunExpress and Pegasus became the first three service-exporting companies across Turkey. İsmail Gülle, who made a speech in the ceremony, said “Our goal is ‘Turkey with foreign trade surplus' and we are moving forward with this goal. In this sense, in the export of both goods and services and in this sense, in the export of both good and services, we are moving forward with this goal. In this period, which we are moving at the level of 200 billion dollars in exports, we attach a special importance to service exports in our strategies for the future.
