Noting that production costs have increased by over 100% in the past year, Chairman Gültepe said, “In some sectors, the rate has exceeded 120%. In the same period, the increase in the dollar exchange rate remained at 25%. Therefore, we are unable to set prices in many sectors. We fell short of our targets in the first half of the year.”

In the ranking of the top exporting sectors, the automotive industry maintained its leading position in June with $2.6 billion, followed by the chemical industry with $2.3 billion and the steel sector with $1.3 billion.

Evaluating the Financial Action Task Force's (FATF) decision to remove Türkiye from the Grey List, Chairman of the Türkiye Exporters Assembly Mustafa Gültepe said, "The decision taken by the Financial Action Task Force is a turning point for our country's economy. In this period where we need new investments within the framework of our 2028 export targets, the importance of this decision for us is immense."

To enhance market diversity, the Türkiye Exporters Assembly facilitated meetings between Turkish exporters and buyers worldwide, organizing comprehensive trade delegations in June to Tanzania, the United Kingdom, and Algeria, encompassing all sectors.

Turkish Cargo, the air cargo brand of THY, has renewed its protocol with TİM for the fifth time, offering exporters discounted cargo transportation. Under this protocol, Turkish Cargo will transport export products to 40 cities in 30 countries with discounts up to 30%.

TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe stated that they achieved a great success by realizing 255.4 billion dollars of goods and 101.7 billion dollars of service exports in 2023, a year when global trade contracted by 1.1 trillion dollars.

The artificial intelligence-supported GreenTİM Platform developed by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly has been made available to exporters.

TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe stated, “In the first quarter of Türkiye's economic growth, net exports contributed 1.6 points and exports 0.9 points. If the factors weakening our competitiveness are eliminated, the contribution of exports to growth will continue to increase.”
